Hurricane Irma
Sep. 13th, 2017 01:49 amHurricane Irma was one big mean storm! Probably the meanest, scariest storm that I remember experience. Lol!
I had a difficult time sleeping because of the wind howling. I would turn off my lantern and fall asleep, only to be woken up again by Irma. Irma was so rude keeping me up! I remember when I looked out my window, all I could see was total darkness. I remember my big brave tuxedo cat Samwise, would come in my room and look out the window to watch the store. He LOVES storms, so I think he was really excited to see one that noisy. I could tell that my little tabby cat, Sam's sister, Heidi, was afraid because she stayed in the bathroom.
When Sam got board watching the excitement, he would lay on me. When I would get scared, I would jump up and run into the hall way carrying Sam. Poor Sam! Lol!
During the night. I thought I could finally get my zzzzz. I heard a loud crash and something shattering. I jumped up really fast and screamed. My Mom came to check on me and I told her what happened and apologized for screaming. I was feeling really bad about my reaction because I try so hard to not panic during bad weather. My Mom told me to sleep in the hall way because their might be a tornado. I slept in the hallway until Mom let me know that it was save to sleep in my room. I woke up and saw a tree pushed up against my window. Turns out that the neighbors huge oak tree had fallen, knocked a whole in their kitchen, resting on their cars, missed my Mom's car by an inch, and was pressed against my window. Man, it was really scary! I'm glad no one got hurt. D=
We still don't have power, so my Mom and I are staying at my uncle Phil's house. It might take three days or more to get it back. I'm really thankful that we survived that scary storm!
