So Funny Thought. . .

I had removed TikTok and Instagram from my phone. Mainly because I love TikTok to the point to where I was getting way too addicted to it and Instagram because the app stresses me out for personal reasons. The funny thing is I have been noticing that I’m a lot more focus when I’m creating art. I will run a long YouTube video or podcast in the background but I’m still focused. I think the constant having to swipe videos adds to it otherwise, it’ll drive me bonkers hearing the same short video over and over again. XD

I got brave and deleted Facebook and Messenger. I compulsively check it. Etc. I went all of 8 hours before adding them back. But in that time I was much more productive. I don't know if it was more inspired by my trying to stay busy so as not to wonder what I was missing or not.

I have gotten better at letting it go as a voice. I rarely post on it anymore. I just enjoy my feeds too much. And if I DO post something I am obsessed about reaction to it - I want to know people's thoughts, feelings, and opinions on things. I think it's the writer in me. I'm always absorbing "characters" in a fleshed out manner. Social media is great for character study lol

I remember when I had FB I was very addicted to it. I kept thinking about wanting to leave the site and wouldn’t, but then a hacker caused my account to be banned and deleted. Lol!

I agree that social media is a great place to learn about people’s thoughts and feelings. This is why I love blogging sites like this.

Ooooh yeah, Tiktok is addicting! I was so proud of myself for avoiding it for one whole day. XD

Ha ha ha! I know right? I would stay up ridiculous late watching art and cat videos. XD

I now watching videos on Youtube, but it feels a little less distracting because most of the videos are longer and I’m not quickly stopping what I’m doing to scroll to the next video. I just let it run in the background when I’m working on art.

I put on Youtube for the background too (and sometimes I do Twitch) when I draw. I do appreciate Tiktok for quick food recipe. (ᗒᗨᗕ)

I love Youtube! I have it running in the background while I’m writing this post. Lol! I watched art videos on Twitch but it’s been a long time. Recipe videos on TikTok are nice. I’m starting to miss the app, but my phone hates it right now. >_>

That's a sensible choice! Honestly, you're not missing out. At least with my case (and many others who may feel this way) hardly get any social gratification with Instagram and sometimes TikTok... they're pretty much just ads, algorithms, with no genuine conversations ;___;

Okay. I haven’t been missing those apps. I agree and this is why I prefer sites like this over a lot of social media apps. I prefer sites where people can have meaningful conversations rather than people trying to sell me stuff.

When I was posting on those sites regularly I felt the pressure to perform to keep up with the algorithm. That was really tricky. O_O
